The right thing

A long delayed EEPT meeting was held today, where we covered most of the bases that were in need of covering.

One of the things we discussed was The Passion of the Christ, which I know I already have said enough about. In fact, I had written about double what you actually see in the post, but I felt that it wasn't necessary to add to it. Anyway, Ralph saw it yesterday too but was a little put off by the violence. Now, when I saw it, nothing about it occured to me except that this is simply how it had to be. I didn't dwell on its fact. It just was. But I do understand that it's a lot to handle. I would say that most adults, and certainly nearly all youth, are just not ready to see a movie like this. It's not that it's too much violence to stomach, because I think everyone should at some point be exposed to the reality of Christ's sufferings. But my fear is that many will walk out of the theatre, not thinking "wow, this is what Jesus did for me," but rather "wow, that was too violent."

Other upcoming events were dealt with, and then we went out to the Riddermark to eat. We went to Yan Can but their machines were down so we couldn't order anything. So we went to Yo Yo Sushi and had a good meal there.

Leedah and Ralph left; Angela and I went back to her office and had a really good talk for a while and I heard some amazing things. Then it was off to work for me for the rest of the day.

Not much to do today except open the new shipments and mark them off the checklist, but Russel had done most of that anyway.

So Russel and Joy were talking about some dude across the hall, who works at Linens 'n' Things, and they were being really weird and stuff. Then Russel said something like "He's going to think everyone in our store is weird" and I said (in all seriousness) "Hey I'M not weird!" and they TOTALLY laughed me out on the spot. There was insanity in their eyes as they cackled. I'm so serious.

"I was on a ship, or a boat. And Jesus was at the, the wheel thing, what's it called? The steering wheel. Yeah, so he was at the steering wheel, and he looked at me and said, 'I know where we're going.'"

Sorry Jon, but I think I agree with your coworkers. You ARE weird. :)

But that's a good thing. Only boring people are normal. The coolest ones are crazy as well.
