    Jonsworld 4.0 FAQ

This FAQ explains the technical issues for this site in order for you to get the optimal performance you expect from this site!

Q: Okay then, what do I need to view this site optimally?
    A: You need:

  • A table, imagemap, and style sheet supporting browser like Internet Explorer 4+.
  • Javascript enabled
  • A monitor set to 1024x768 resolution (800x600 is works too, but it doesn't look as nifty. And don't even THINK of trying to use 640x480)
  • Q: Okay, how do I change my screen resolution?
A: Assuming you're using Micro$oft Window$, go to "Control Panel," then click on the "Settings" tab. There should be a little slider to the right that shows the screen resolution. To change it, just slide the marker around till it gets to 1024x768. If 800x600 is as far as it goes, then just use that, however primitive it may be.

Q: What's with the game and movie motifs at the top?
A: I like those games and movies. So what?

Q: What did you use to make this site?
A: Well, I spent about five minutes creating the design on paper, and then MANY hours trying to make the same thing happen on my trusty eMachine 400i. For the images, I used Photosuite III, Photoshop 5.0 LE, Amorphium, and IrfanView. For the HTML, I just use plain, old, simple Notepad. You can't beat it.

Q: Did you do all the HTML yourself?
A: Yep, except for the scripts, all the HTML was painstakingly trial-and-errored by yours truly.

Q: How do I get around here?
A: The large imagemap on the right is the main menu, and when you click on any of the four sections a submenu will show up in the middle, as well as on bar on the left side underneath the general information menu. I've tried to make it easy to backtrack your steps by putting in "back" links, but if you ever find yourself lost you can easily rectify yourself by clicking again on one of the main menu items on the right bar. Isn't that incredibly innovative and simple?

Q: What can you tell me about your host?
A: Newtomorrow is my host site, run by an enormously cool guy named Troy. He does all sorts of neat web stuff that I can't even pretend to know about.
